BGCE Expands Green Engineer Ranks

3/26/03 — Truckee, California — Beaudin Ganze Consulting Engineers, Inc., (BGCE), is proud to announce that Jeff Bender, a mechanical engineer with special green building practice experience, has joined the firm's Truckee, California, office. Mr. Bender's background in mechanical engineering, electrical maintenance, energy and automation solutions, and energy efficiency remediation fits well with BGCE's commitment to sustainable design, experience in resort and multi-family residential projects, as well as others, and expertise in mechanical and electrical building systems engineering and commissioning.

Mr. Bender began his career as a degreed mechanical engineer and later became a registered Engineer-In-Training (EIT). Mr. Bender spent three years as a Sales Engineer in Northern California territories for an international energy and automation solutions provider, where he distinguished himself as an accomplished professional, capable of exceeding goals and expectations. This experience also cultivated his interest in the area of energy efficiency. Since then Mr. Bender has performed energy efficiency remediation on residential buildings, installed radiant heat systems, pursued research in renewable energy and green building practices, and has become a member of American Solar Energy Society (ASES).

Mr. Bender's experience and growing expertise in energy efficiency will be put to good use on BGCE's many projects in the region, including several which are seeking certification in the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™) Program, which measures a project's performance of "green" building design principles and goals. BGCE is the MEP Engineer for the Village at Northstar Resort Development Project, which is seeking the first-ever LEED™ certification for an entire village project. BGCE is also providing MEP engineering for the First Ascent and 22 Station Projects, the first two phases of the Village at Squaw Valley Resort Development. Mr. Bender's addition will bolster BGCE's ranks of qualified engineers contributing to the success of these and other projects.
