At Issue
Due to the Village to Village interconnect between Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead, Vail Associates saw the need to build a new base village facility at Arrowhead. Not only was the base village needed for the skiers to enjoy, but there was also a higher-end amenity needed for the exclusive gated community. Thus, the Arrowhead Alpine Club was born. The facility contains 17 high-end condominiums, ranging from 1,800 sf to the 5,000 sf penthouse unit. It also included a subterranean, full-service health club with spa rooms, men's and women's locker rooms, aerobics and yoga facilities, as well as a full-service weight lifting area. Since there was "The Club," the members-only area was also extended to the second and first floors with extravagant use of the Arrowhead Mountain and Ski area. The new facility also houses the skier services functions and other retail spaces to serve its exclusive clientele. In addition to the posh decor and heating and cooling benefits inside, there was approximately 5,000 sf of snowmelt surrounding the facility and protecting the entrance drive to the subterranean parking garage for the homeowners.
