At Issue
BGCE
is providing mechanical and electrical engineering design/build scope
definition, consultation (Owner’s Representative) during the
construction document phase, and construction review services for this
mixed-use resort village base facility in Snowmass Village, Colorado.
New construction for Phases 1 & 2 of the project will include
approximately 293,684 SF of residential; 37,414 SF of shell commercial;
74,403 SF of skier services; 32,244 SF of community facilities; and
180,540 SF of below-grade parking garage. In addition 150,000 SF of
site will be snowmelted. BGCE is the sole MEP engineer and is
coordinating with three different Architectural teams to produce the
ten different buildings this project comprises.
These facilities will be served by one central boiler/chiller plant which will include:
- 14 condensing boilers
- Two variable-flow chillers for added efficiency, two cooling towers, and flate plate for cooling
- Primary and secondary pumping for both cold and hot water
- Domestic water heaters employ additional heat exchanger in order to
lower the return water heating temperature and modify the required
condensing temperature of the boiler system
- Diesel exhaust system for garage, through which public bus systems transits
