At Issue
BGCE provided mechanical and electrical engineering for upgrades to classroom technology capabilities and control. BGCE's Project Manager has designed over 80 smart classrooms on the AHEC campus, totaling in excess of $8 million. These upgrades included:
- Lighting upgrade, including dual-level VDT (low glare) fixtures for illumination over student desk areas and fixtures for illumination of chalkboards
- Technology upgrade, including custom designed and built media racks and instructor station
- Infrastructure upgrade, including modifications to provide clean power and tuss protected branch circuits to equipment
- Some classrooms with AMX control
- Equipment included: Document camera, DVD/ CD/VCR, Video projector, and Stereo
