The main portion of this complex is an old barn the owner purchased from the mid-west. The complex was built around the reassembled barn, which serves as a multi-use space. The surrounding complex consists of a large restaurant, bar and dining area, wine room, an uncorking room, a spa, a wedding chapel, a meeting room, a retail and cross-country skiing and snow shoe rental shop, and an exterior pool.
BGCE provided mechanical and electrical engineering, and lighting design construction documents, and construction administration services for this project. BGCE's designs included approximately 350 tons of ground source heat pumps with a pond loop to provide building heating/cooling, wine room cooling, snowmelt, and pool and spa heating. This innovative system provides significant energy savings, and represents the extraordinary potential when engineering collaborates with nature.
