BGCE is providing mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety and lighting design to a new four story Computer Science/ISTec building located in the center of CSU's main campus. A pressurized raised floor mechanical space will be used throughout the building to realize energy efficiency, high flexibility of power and data infrastructure and overall reduction of life-cycle costs. In addition to the two large public computer labs on the first floor, the upper floors will contain collaboration and work spaces for grad students and interaction with other University departments for a 24/7 building. Security and video surveillance, along with telecommunications will be coordinated with University building facilities groups. The heart of the building is two critical machine rooms - each room designed with redundant mechanical systems and UPS power, to provide reliable service to the entire Computer Science department, and its various research networks accessible around the globe.
