Recreation

Recreational
facilities are almost invariably intensive mixed-use facilities. The variety
of specialized environments most recreation facilities offer creates a demanding
building system profile.
From the temperature and humidity control necessary to preserve an enjoyable
and safe environment in swimming pool areas; to lighting design that enhances,
rather than impedes, performance in gymnasium sports areas; to HVAC systems
that can accommodate the intake and exhaust needs of gym spaces that range
in occupancy by the hundreds; building systems make or break the quality of
a recreation facility’s offerings, and, ultimately its viability. Furthermore
these “intensive” needs often translate as “expensive”
needs.
BGCE works to not only design systems that control the variety of environments
and the transitions in between, but also systems that allow for continuous
monitoring and adjustment of these environments to conserve limited and costly
resources, and minimize maintenance challenges that can also turn costly and
jeopardize operating budgets.
