Aspen Middle School Engineering & Commissioning Under Way
9/25/06 - Vail, Colorado - Beaudin Ganze Consulting Engineers, Inc. (BGCE) is providing mechanical and electrical engineering and lighting design services for the 103,000 square foot replacement Middle School for the Aspen School District. The project is currently seeking LEEDTM certification. Key sustainable features of the Middle School include: daylighting, low energy use direct/indirect evaporative cooling, transpired solar collectors and solar photovoltaic panels, and high-efficiency condensing boilers, to name a few. The Architect of Record for the project is Hutton Ford Architects PC, and the estimated completion of construction is summer 2007.
Additionally, Commissioning Agents USA (CxA-USA), a division of BGCE, has been selected to provide fundamental LEEDTM commissioning for the project. CxA-USA builds on BGCE's commissioning and retro-commissioning experience with the added expertise of specialists in HVAC systems, control systems, energy management, and building maintenance and operations.
