Patrick Burns Now Certified Energy Manager
June 2008, Denver, Colorado— Patrick Burns has obtained the distinguished Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) Professional Certification. The CEM designation, sanctioned by the Association of Energy Engineers, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated high levels of experience, competence, proficiency and ethical fitness in the energy management profession.
The CEM certification is recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Office of Federal Energy Management Programs (FEMP), and the U.S. Agency for International Development, as well as by numerous state energy offices, major utilities, corporations and energy service companies. There are only approximately 6,000 professionals worldwide that have the certification. The accreditation demonstrates Burns' dedication to the environment and his personal goal of commitment to efficient building designs.
As leader of Beaudin Ganze's energy services group, Burns will continue to develop the firm's engineering processes to document and achieve Energy Conservation Methods (ECMs) for new designs and existing building evaluations.
Beaudin Ganze has extensive experience in energy services. Certification brings an increased understanding of the complex issues surrounding energy management that is necessitated by the competing demands for energy use and the need for smaller energy footprints. "Beaudin Ganze has always incorporated sustainable elements into its designs. The certification will bring more formality to our processes," said Burns.
