BGCE Advances Toward Goal of Firm-wide LEED™ Accreditation
2/27/03 — Bill Larson and Tracy Dible, mechanical engineers with Beaudin Ganze Consulting Engineers, Inc., (BGCE) have passed the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED™ Professional Accreditation Exam. This brings the count of BGCE's cadre of LEED™ accredited professionals to eight. BGCE has made it a goal to have all technical staff LEED™ accredited.
BGCE has embraced the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED™ program as an effective system for encouraging, measuring, and preserving the integrity of the moniker "green building." LEED™ is quickly gaining ascendancy throughout the design and construction industries and is becoming mandatory in many government projects. BGCE provided MEP design services for the Sundeck Restaurant atop Aspen Mountain, which was certified in the pilot LEED™ program. The firm attended the 1st Annual USGBC International Green Building Exposition in Austin, Texas, this past November.
Mr. Larson joined BGCE in 2002, and is currently working on the Old Greenwood Pool, Tennis, & Fitness Facility for a residential development at Tahoe Mountain Resort in California, which is also a LEED™ registered project. He is also beginning work on a remodel and 2800 sf addition to the Sundeck Restaurant.
Mr. Dible joined the firm in 2002 and is providing mechanical design services for both the Village at Northstar and the Old Greenwood Pool, Tennis, and Fitness Facility. Mr. Dible is also working on various government projects, including the new Silverthorne Elementary School, the M/E renovations at Breckenridge and Dillon Valley Elementary Schools, and Summit County Schools Controls upgrade.
